Louis Rees-Zammit to make imminent announcement on future after 'very tough year'
Louis Rees-Zammit says he will make a decision on his NFL future in the next week.
The former Wales rugby international is a currently free agent after leaving the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have so far opted against signing him on a reserve/future contract.
The 24-year-old initially signed for the Kansas City Chiefs for pre-season training, after making the shock decision to leave rugby in 2024 to join the NFL's international player pathway.

However, he is now free to negotiate with other teams following his latest release. It is also not out of the question he could remain in Jacksonville.
Speaking to ITV as part of their coverage of Superbowl LIX, which saw the Philadelphia Eagles ease their way to a 40-22 win over the Chiefs in New Orleans, the former Gloucester star said: "Yeah, I'm looking for options.
"I think in the next week or so we'll make a decision on where I am next year. But this past year has been crazy. A crazy experience. Mentally and physically it's been tough, but it's a journey I've always wanted to be on so I'm loving it."
The Welshman appeared to enjoy his Super Bowl experience, which included mixing with celebrities such as One Direction's Louis Tomlinson.
Rees-Zammit scored 14 tries for Wales in 32 games, with his last international outing being the World Cup quarter-final defeat against Argentina. Wales haven't won an international test match since.
But there appears to be little chance of him making a return to help Warren Gatland's ailing side. Indeed, while he's found it tough to find his feet in his new career, there are clearly has no plans to make a return to rugby any time soon.
"It's huge," he responded when asked about the learning curve over the past year. "Trying to pick up a brand new sport within three months is pretty tough, especially trying to play catch up with all the boys that are playing now.
"It's been a very tough year, but it's one that I've learned so much from. I can really look forward to this year coming.
"I'm definitely active [in trying to find somewhere]. That's why I said next week my decision will be made, so hopefully I'll find a team then and look forward to pre-season."
