Celtic outcast Luis Palma is on the brink of securing a switch to La Liga side Rayo Vallecano – according to reports in Spain.

The Honduran winger has been reduced to a bit-part role in Glasgow's east end and is now on the verge of saying goodbye to the Premiership champions on loan. Vallecano have inserted a buy option in the deal with Celtic and it's now on the 24-year-old to recapture the magic he showed at times during his debut campaign. He scored in the Champions League against Feyenoord and Atletico Madrid and the narrowest of VAR calls denied him another against Lazio. Now he will head to Madrid for his medical next week.

Palma has been permanently replaced by Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kuhn with both James Forrest and Yang ahead of him in the eyes of Brendan Rodgers and his coaching staff. Palma has made only 10 appearances this season and an exit has been in the offing in recent weeks. It's understood Palma is in line for game time at Vallecano as both a No.10 and a wide man.
