Luke Littler admits he IS lazy as darts world champion has message for James Wade

Luke Littler admits he is lazy and surprises himself as he's still a young fan at heart.

The World Champion has such incredible natural darts talent that he does not now need to spend hours on practice board to be the king. Rival James Wade spoke about rivals being lazy before the pair met in their last 16 clash which Littler won in under 16 minutes without losing a leg. The comments were not aimed directly at the kid or World No.1 Luke Humphries, but the teenager still responded when poked about them and said: “I didn’t see it, but he’s right. I am lazy. In the practice room as well. I don’t have to practice for hours and hours.

“You know yourself when to play when you’ve practiced for that long, you’ve warmed up and you’ve ready to go.”

Littler was astonishing in destroying Wade to set up a Sunday clash with Jonny Clayton and continued: “Sometimes I do surprise myself, but then again, I can look at myself and say you have got the game to do it, you are World Champion, you can beat anyone.

“Wadey didn’t turn up and that just gave me confidence to go on and win. I just want to go on stage and get the job done. Any trophy on any scale, but it’s going to take some beating against Jonny. But I know myself I have the game to beat him, get over that one and I know it’s a long day and night.”

Littler loves the game when he’s not on stage and added: “Especially Michael van Gerwen’s walk on. I love it. I’m just a fan.”
