Sizzling Luke Littler admits his stratospheric rise still catches him off guard and senses his rivals are keen to swerve him.

The 18-year-old superstar added the UK Open to his bulging trophy cabinet as he wiped out three-times champion James Wade in the final by a resounding score of 11-2. There was no shock in the 'FA Cup of Darts' as the man with eyes on untold heights showed his class once again.

And Littler, for the first time ever, conceded the fear is real among his peers. Speaking after his dominant win at Minehead, he said: "I'm obviously happy to win another major. Another ticked off the list as everyone knows I want to win one of every major, that's my main goal. Tick off the UK Open here in Minehead and it's all focus for the Premier League on Thursday in Brighton.

"To tick this one off at the third time of asking, I'm just very happy with the way I played all weekend. People may look at my A game as I'm playing now is a 105, 106. Maybe my B game is maybe 99. The way I've played this weekend has been unbelievable. If I could hit my doubles quicker, it could be a lot higher.

"I don't have much experience on the stage. Obviously I played in everything last year, it's only my second proper year on the tour. Sometimes I do surprise myself. I can obviously feel the players around me, they don't want to draw me. And yeah, I'll play anyone. It doesn't matter who it is."
