Luke Littler stands on the verge of making history after another stunning run to the PDC World Darts Championship.

At 17, the ace from Runcorn will become the youngest darts world champion of all time if he can beat Michael van Gerwen at Alexandra Palace tonight. Littler cruised into the final after easing past Stephen Bunting in the semi-final, having also beaten Ryan Meikle, Ian White, Ryan Joyce and Nathan Aspinall earlier in the tournament.

This is the second successive World Championship final for the teenager, a year on from him taking the world of darts by storm at Ally Pally. Coming into last year's tournament as a relative unknown, the-then 16-year-old stunned the competition as he powered his way to the final before ultimately losing to Luke Humphries.

Since that extraordinary debut campaign, Littler has not looked back, winning the Premier League, Grand Slam and World Series Finals in 2024. Last month, he was also named BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year and narrowly missed out on the main award, finishing second behind Olympic gold medallist Keeley Hodgkinson.

Having been widely tipped to go one step further than last year and seal the world title and £500,000 jackpot, just three-time champion van Gerwen stands in his way. Victory on Friday night will be the highlight of Littler's career so far and could propel him to a another level of stardom having already seen his life change beyond recognition over the course of the last 12 months.

Not only has his net worth soared, having earnt over £1million in 2024 alone, the teenager has also experienced some big changes in his personal life, having split with his girlfriend Eloise Milburn.

The beauty consultant was a constant feature at Alexandra Palace last year, attending her partner's matches and supporting him as he achieved overnight fame. But the couple - who met while playing FIFA on Xbox - soon saw their relationship face criticism due to their five-year age gap, with Eloise, then 21, being targeted by trolls.

Both Littler and her mother Amanda condemned the "vile" and "disgusting" abuse she received, with the darts star coming out in support for his girlfiriend. However, six months later, Littler ended the relationship via text message, a decision that reportedly caught Eloise off guard and was described as "brutal" and "out of the blue".

Again, Eloise received abuse from trolls in the wake of the news, with Littler releasing a statement that read: "Everyone needs to stop sending hate towards Eloise saying it's her fault this and that. I myself split up with Eloise and everyone just needs to give us some time, no need for everyone to message her and give her grief."

However, it appears that Littler has now moved on, with the teenager seemingly accidentally revealing that he was in a new relationship. Known for his love of video games, Littler was taking part in a gaming live-stream with popular YouTuber Angry Ginge when a female voice was picked up on his microphone.

The voice said "I'm going to try and get some sleep because I am so tired," quickly leading his friends and fans to speculate that he had someone new in his life.

"Who the f*** is that? Who's that Luke? Who's that Luke?," said Angry Ginge. "He's had a rotter there. Luke's had a rotter. Let her get to bed, Luke, come on."

While Littler saw the funny side, he didn't seem happy that he had been rumbled, as he replied: "Your chat is going mad. F*** off

"If someone has screen recorded that, it is in the papers in the morning. Yep, well played. Why is the volume all the way up, you f***ing idiot?"
