Luke Williams holds talks with Swansea City hierarchy as West Brom speculation swirls

Swansea City boss Luke Williams is not believed to be in the frame for the West Bromwich Albion job.

Rumours have swirled for the last few days that Williams was one of those being looked at by the Baggies following the departure of Carlos Corberan at Christmas.

However, an approach to the Swans or Williams' representatives never materialised, and he is believed to be preparing for Saturday's fixture, ironically against the Baggies, as normal.

Despite the lack of any contact, Williams is still odds-on at 1/4 to take over at The Hawthorns, although reports in the West Midlands claim he isn't being pursued by the club.

There's a growing feeling inside Swansea that Williams won't be going anywhere, although some sections of the club's hierarchy are believed to be a little concerned at the head coach's handling of the saga.

As too are supporters, many of whom have been disappointed by Williams' failure to publicly commit to the club and put the speculation to bed.

Indeed, while seemingly distancing himself from the job, Williams has twice opted not to completely rule anything out when quizzed on the links.

However, Williams is believed to have told chairman Andy Coleman during crunch talks this week that he remains committed to the Swans.

Williams is expected to face the media himself later this afternoon, and it's hoped the saga will soon be put to bed as the club gear up for what could be an important January window.
