Lyall Cameron has signed a pre-contract agreement at Rangers ahead of a summer move from Dundee.

Record Sport first broke the news in January that the Ibrox side had rekindled their interest in the Dens Park playmaker and were keen on a similar move to the one which took Connor Barron to Glasgow back in the summer. They've since stepped that up and an agreement has now been struck with Cameron set to make the move when his deal expires in June.

The move for the 22-year-old comes as part of the recruitment overhaul at Ibrox with a focus on young players with high potential and resale value. Cameron is viewed as a future Scotland international if things go to plan and he had netted an impressive eight goals and seven assists for Tony Docherty's team this season. In total he has scored or assisted 39 goals in 109 appearances for the Dens side after emerging from their academy, and Dundee will be owed training compensation as part of the move.

Rangers techical director Nils Koppen said: “I am delighted that we have agreed a deal for Lyall to join the club and to continue his career at Rangers come the summer.

"He is a talented young player, who has already gained great experience in the Scottish Premiership, and adding young, Scottish talent to our first-team squad is hugely important to all of us at the club.

“Lyall has a lot of potential and I look forward to seeing him continue to grow at Rangers in the coming years.”
