Magpies denied win by late equaliser by Swans keeper
WALTON & HERSHAM 2
Bulger 42; Barker (90+4)
DORCHESTER 2
Dickson 52, 54
THERE were unbelievable scenes at the Elmbridge Sports Hub as Walton & Hersham goalkeeper Jos Barker equalised in the dying seconds of the game.
Dorchester had come from behind to lead 2-1 and looked set to secure a vital three points away from home against their playoff rivals.
However, with seconds left on the clock Barker rose highest to head home with the final play of the game - stunning Tom Killick and his Magpies side.
A quickfire brace from Jack Dickson had put Dorchester ahead soon after the break following Eoin Bulger's opener just before half time.
Killick made one change from last weekend's win over Hungerford as Tom Bragg came in for the suspended Ollie Haste.
It was a slow start to the game but the hosts did force an early save from Gerard Benfield in the opening five minutes.
As the half grew Olaf Koszela - off the back of a brace last weekend - pinched the ball out wide and forced Barker into a good save.
Junior Eccleston was soon up the other end putting Benfield to work after the ball had richoted around the box.
Wes Fogden then slipped in Shaquille Gwengwe who went down in the box - with the loose ball falling to Corby Moore - but could not replicate his long distance screamer against Hungerford as Barker palmed the ball away for a corner.
Walton fans were screaming for a penalty in the 36th minute as Jordan Esprit looked to have his shirt pulled but the referee waved play on.
With a few minutes to go until the break the Swans did find an opener as Bolger's corner flew straight into the net.
Moments later the hosts almost doubled their lead as Johl Powell rifled a shot against the woodwork.
After regrouping at half time, the Magpies came out of the blocks quickly and soon found themselves level.
Koszela crossed the ball to Gwengwe who looked to be bundled over, but the ball was picked up by Harry Hutchinson who squared it to Dickson to fire home for 1-1.
Just a few minutes later and Dorchester had completed the turn around as Dickson doubled his tally and rifled home the ball from 25 yards out.
Koszela had a half chance in the 82nd minute after Bragg's header from a Moore corner landed at the feet of the striker but he hooked his effort over the bar.
However, with the last play of the game and with Walton throwing everyone forward, the home crowd erupted as goalkeeper Barker got on the end of a cross to head home to stun the Magpies
The draw means Dorchester stay in fifth place, three points clear of Walton in sixth in the Southern League playoff spots.
