Man City fans to get early glimpse of exciting January signing
Manchester City fans will get a first glimpse of their forgotten January signing tonight.
City have spent £100m+ on three January arrivals this week with Omar Marmoush, Khasnov and Victor Reis all set to be included in the squad for Saturday's Premier League game with Chelsea.
But one winter arrival will not be at the Etihad with midfielder Claudio Echeverri having been granted permission by City to represent Argentina at the South American Under-20 Championship.

That tournament runs until mid February and Argentina take on Brazil tonight (11.30pm kick off UK time) in a blockbuster group game. Echeverri is a key player for Argentina and a match-up against Brazil will offer a gauge of the star's potential for when he does link up with City next month.
The teenager is highly rated and City, who signed him 12 months ago before allowing him to remain at former club River Plate, had seen enough of the midfielder to want to bring him into the first team fold upon arrival in Manchester.
Echeverri competed in the Olympics last year and will now link up with his international team-mates for the prestigious South American tournament. City and their fans will get to see what the starlet has to offer while also hoping he does not pick up an injury.
Echeverri will link up with City once he is finished with his international duties. While he could still feature for Guardiola's side this season, the decision to let him play in this tournament is a reminder that he is still viewed as a future prospect by the club.
City did similar with Maximo Perrone, who spent six months in Guardiola's squad after signing from Velez Sarsfeld in January 2023. The Argentine made one appearance - at Bournemouth in the Premier League - before spending the next season on loan at Las Palmas, and after returning to the Blues for pre-season he then headed out for a loan at Serie A newcomers Como.
