Man City handed fresh injury blow as key player 'ruled out' of Liverpool clash
Manchester City have been handed an injury blow ahead of the clash against Liverpool. The Reds are due to take on City in the Premier League next week as they continue their quest to win the league title.
Arne Slot's side are currently seven points clear of second-placed Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table, after being forced to settle for a draw in the Merseyside Derby against Everton in midweek. Liverpool return to top-flight action this weekend as they host Wolves at Anfield.
Next week will see Liverpool travel to face Man City at the Etihad Stadium, days after a rearranged clash against Aston Villa at Villa Park. The next few days could potentially define the Reds' chances of winning the Premier League title, which will include a trip to the Etihad.

Both Liverpool and Man City have been forced to deal with injury concerns throughout the season. It seems that Pep Guardiola's side have been dealt a fresh injury blow days before the clash between the two historic title rivals.
The Times have reported that Manuel Akanji has suffered a hamstring injury and is set for a spell on the sidelines. The report claims that Akanji picked up the injury during City's 3-2 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
As a result, Akanji is reported to be expected to spend the next few games on the sidelines, which will include the clash against Liverpool. No exact timeframe has been given for when City expect Akanji to return, but it's been suggested that the defender will miss at least their next three matches.
That run will see City face Newcastle United in the Premier League this weekend, before travelling to Spain to take on Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League play-off tie days before facing Liverpool next week.
There are also concerns about Jack Grealish's fitness, while Rodri remains a long-term absentee. Liverpool are also dealing with some selection dilemmas going into the clash against Wolves this weekend.
Joe Gomez looks set for a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, while Curtis Jones is unavailable due to suspension. Reds boss Slot, meanwhile, gave the latest on his side in a press conference on Friday morning.
"I've always said games in second half of season are more difficult than in the first," he said. "It will be a challenge on Sunday but that's normal.
"Trent we saw being able to play, it was the intention to play half an hour. "He will be training with us again.
"Joe Gomez is out and Tyler Morton is out. Cody is a bit of a doubt as well, let's wait to see how he is today, I had to take him off because of an injury, he got a knock."
