Man City player ratings vs Chelsea as Erling Haaland and Josko Gvardiol shine but two 4/10s
Manchester City came from behind to beat Chelsea 3-1 and move back into the top four of the Premier League.
After conceding four goals in the last 40 minutes in Paris in midweek, the Blues had the worst possible start when debutant Abdukodir Khusanov gifted Chelsea an opener. It could have been worse, but the home team rallied and were level at the break thanks to a Josko Gvardiol goal.
Erling Haaland scored his 24th of the season to put City back in the lead and Phil Foden wrapped things up. Here are the player ratings from the game.
Ederson: Came out of his box a number of times to kill danger for City and came up with the assist for the second. 8
Nunes: Improved on midweek, learning more when to stay and when to charge forward - one surge brought the equaliser. 6
Khusanov: The most difficult first six minutes of a debut in memory. Did well to recover his composure and managed a few crunching tackles. 4
Akanji: Will always play because he is fit but looked short of his best again, slow to respond to Chelsea danger. 5
Gvardiol: Missed a few chances in the first half but kept going and was rewarded with his goal. He held on defensively as well. 8
Gundogan: The defensive concerns remain, although he was productive in attack with those clipped balls over the top. 7
Kovacic: Didn't learn from Paris not to give the ball away on the edge of your own box. Too many mistakes that someone of his experience should be above. 4
Silva: Dropped back to help Khusanov out after the early error and chipped in wherever was needed, even if the threat wasn't big enough pushing forward. 6
Foden: Rattled the post early and always kept Chelsea busy, then popped up with a late goal just after it looked like he had faded. 7
Marmoush: A lively debut with some threat offered instantly, but three offsides included one costly one where Silva would have scored. 6
Haaland: Good link-up play and a good goal, proving difficult for Colwill to handle all game. A lovely assist for the third 8
