Manchester City make the trip to Leicester City on Sunday desperately looking to return to winning ways.

Pep Guardiola's side were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Everton on Boxing Day as Bernardo Silva's opening goal was cancelled out by Iliman Ndiaye's equaliser. Erling Haaland then saw his penalty saved by Jordan Pickford as City's sorry run of form continued.

It is now just one win in their last 13 matches in all competitions and that result at the Etihad saw them remain in seventh and fall six points behind fourth-placed Nottingham Forest in the race to qualify for next season's Champions League.

They now make the trip to the East Midlands and while City remain in the midst of an injury crisis, Guardiola will look to freshen things up where he can.

Ederson was not involved in the draw with Everton so Stefan Ortega is expected to continue in goal at the King Power Stadium.

City are hopeful Kyle Walker will be back in contention and, if he is, he is likely to come in at right-back. Ruben Dias and John Stones are expected to miss out through injury, while Nathan Ake came off with a knock during the draw with Everton.

It is hoped Ake will be fit to be involved but Guardiola may not risk him from the start. With that in mind, Manu Akanji could be joined by Josko Gvardiol at centre-half, with the Croatia international moving infield from left-back. Rico Lewis will move along to vacate that space at full-back.

Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan came on from the bench against Everton and they are likely to return to the midfield alongside Mateo Kovacic.

Phil Foden and Jeremy Doku will flank Haaland, giving Silva a rest and Savinho dropping to the bench.

Youngsters Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, Nico O'Reilly, Divin Mubama and James McAtee will hope for some action from the bench.

City predicted XI: Ortega; Walker, Akanji, Gvardiol, Lewis; Gundogan, Kovacic, De Bruyne; Foden, Doku; Haaland
