Man City takes Omar Marmoush transfer charge amid Liverpool 'interest'
Manchester City, currently 12 points behind Liverpool in the Premier League table having played a game more, is set to make a double transfer move in the winter market — including looking at a striker linked with Arne Slot's side.
According to The Athletic, Pep Guardiola's men are looking to complete a double deal for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush and Lens center-back Abdukodir Khusanov. Marmoush, of course, the free-scoring Egyptian, has been suggested as a possible option for the Reds to bolster their forward line.
Marmoush has scored 13 goals in 15 appearances so far this season in the Bundesliga. He would essentially be a belated replacement for Julian Alvarez, who Manchester City allowed to join Atletico Madrid last summer, to work alongside Erling Haaland.

Khusanov, the 20-year-old defender, has attracted interest from elsewhere, including both Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur. Marmoush joined Frankfurt from Wolfsburg in 2023. He has made 24 appearances in all competitions this season, providing 18 goals and 12 assists in something of a breakout campaign.
Liverpool.com says: It is going to take a big revamp for Manchester City to get back on track, with Guardiola having signed a new contract essentially to oversee that. Like Jurgen Klopp, he didn't want to leave during a down period. The Citizens basically find themselves in the same position as Liverpool a year or 18 months back, where fresh blood was desperately required.
Some more youthful options across the team would be very useful for Manchester City to inject some new life into its team. Marmoush, certainly, would represent that. As for links with Liverpool, there simply isn't any room at the moment. Someone else would need to move on to free up space on the roster, which is highly unlikely this month.
