Pep Guardiola said a lot with just two words about how Arsenal celebrated their victory over Manchester City.

Gabriel laughed in Erling Haaland's face when Martin Odegaard scored in the opening two minutes and Myles Lewis-Skelly mimicked the striker's meditation celebration when he scored to make it 3-1 in the second half. At full-time, Kendrick Lemar's Humble played out over the loudspeakers as Arsenal revelled in thrashing City.

For his part, Haaland knocked in his 25th goal of the season to briefly equalise for the Blues and pointed to the golden Premier League badge on his shirt at full-time to remind his own supporters of what he and the team have achieved. His dad took to social media after the game to indirectly reference the gulf between what each of the two clubs have won in recent years.

Guardiola was full of praise for the way Arsenal took apart his side even if he mostly focused on why City need to be better, but was not impressed when he was told of how Haaland had been mocked. "That's good..." he said, before repeating it twice more and leaving his press conference; Mikel Arteta refused to discuss the flashpoints but said his players knew how he felt about it.

City manager Guardiola was previously irked this season by Liverpool fans chanting that he would be sacked late on in their 2-0 win, suggesting that it would have been braver of them to sign when the result wasn't such a formality. Until his team can find a way to stop good teams from tearing through their midfield and defence, there may be more mocking to endure between now and the end of the season.
