Manchester United may not be able to sign Victor Osimehn after all following a recent transfer update on Marcus Rashford.

The future of the United academy graduate has been the subject of intense speculation over recent weeks. Reports over the last week have claimed that Rashford could be set for a move away from Old Trafford during the January transfer window - despite the forward rejecting three offers from the Saudi Pro League.

Rashford missed the draw with Liverpool at the weekend due to illness. The 27-year-old has not featured for United in their last six matches, missing the matchday squad entirely for five of those fixtures, with the exception of the defeat to Newcastle in the Premier League, where he was an unused substitute.

Reports in recent days have claimed that several clubs are interested in signing Rashford on loan before the transfer window closes on February 3. There was a report from The Sun earlier this month which claimed that United and Napoli could agree to a swap deal for Rashford.

It was claimed that a swap deal would see Rashford move to Napoli while Osimhen completes a switch to Old Trafford. Osimhen is currently on loan at Galatasaray, but reports have suggested there is a break clause in the deal that can be activated if a suitable offer is made.

However, a fresh report from Sky Sports has claimed that Rashford's agent has already travelled to Italy for talks. However, it has been stated that the United star's representatives are in talks with AC Milan, although there no suggestions that negotiations will take place with Napoli.

Borussia Dortmund and Juventus are also reported to be interested in signing Rashford. But with no sign of Rashford's agent talking to Napoli, it seems that a swap deal for Osimhen may not be on the cards after all.
