Man United handed Marcus Rashford transfer update as huge Borussia Dortmund decision 'approved'
A huge transfer decision involving Borussia Dortmund may impact Marcus Rashford's much-talked-about future at Manchester United. The German club are one of the only teams still in the January race for his signature with many previously interested parties, even on a loan deal, unable to afford him.
Ruben Amorim has left Rashford out of eight of his last nine United matchday squads with the 39-year-old offering a clear explanation when asked why he was absent in the 3-1 defeat to Brighton this past weekend. "It is his choice [not to play]. I don’t want to focus on this bad moment because in the games we lost, Rashford is not here," he said.
"I don't want to put this moment on Rashford. Rashford is out of this moment because he's not playing. No matter what, I am not going to put out a player I don't believe is the best for the team." Despite admitting he feels "ready" for a new challenge and his lack of minutes, Rashford could still stay at Old Trafford.

AC Milan have held talks over a move for the 27-year-old but their focus, having seemingly wrapped up a deal for Manchester City's Kyle Walker, appears to now be on recruiting Joao Felix from Chelsea. Monaco had been loosely linked, although Fabrizio Romano revealed they were not working on a switch, but that Barcelona were interested.
That seems to leave the Catalan giants and Dortmund as his only potential destinations in January - with the latter and United now in direct contact over a temporary switch but there are financial concerns over getting a deal over the line, as per Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg.
On another topic, he also claimed Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has approved a move for Dortmund's Jamie Gittens, who is also said to be of interest to United, Chelsea and Liverpool. With the Englishmen attracting so much interest, Dortmund may feel as though they are set to lose him soon.
Whether he joins this month or not, Rashford could be viewed as Dortmund's replacement for Gittens especially if they can obtain a significant fee for his departure from Signal Iduna Park. Alternatively, Amorim could try and bring Gittens to Old Trafford either in a swap with Rashford or separate deal.
