The Reds secured a point in a 2-2 stalemate against their Merseyside rivals in the Premier League thanks to goals from Lisandro Martinez and Amad Diallo.

United are being linked with a move for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen as the January transfer window rolls on. The Nigeria international is currently on loan with the Turkish club for the season from Napoli, although reports have suggested there is a break clause in the agreement that allows the loan to be terminated early if a suitable offer is made.

According to Business Day, United are showing an interest in signing Osimhen this month, with the player also open to making a move to Old Trafford. The report claims that Osimhen has a €90million (£75million) release clause in his contract at Napoli, with United apparently already in talks over signing the striker before the deadline on February 3.

Osimhen has scored 13 goals in 16 appearances for Galatasaray this season and has been heavily linked with a move away from the Super Lig outfit ever since he first made the switch to Turkey.

Elsewhere, United are being linked with a move for Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi. According to TEAMtalk, United have approached the Serie A outfit over the possibility of signing the 25-year-old during the January transfer window.

The report claims that United will face competition from Manchester City, Newcastle, Tottenham Hotspur and Roma for the midfielder's signature. It has even been claimed that City are the favourites to sign Frattesi, with Inter valuing the Italy international at around €50million (£41.5million).
