Man United learn Dani Olmo transfer 'truth' after La Liga block Barcelona move
Barcelona have been handed fresh disappointment in their pursuit of registering Dani Olmo, according to reports, amid Manchester City and Man United transfer links.
On Tuesday, it was confirmed that the La Liga giants had once again failed in their attempts to register the Spain international. According to Fabrizio Romano, La Liga rejected the appeal from Barcelona over their attempts to register Olmo and Pau Victor.
As a result, the club applied for new players’ licences for the duo with the Spanish FA (Rfef) in the latest battle for Barca amid their ongoing financial difficulties.

Olmo's future has been in up in the air for a number of months and Premier League clubs, including both Manchester outfits, have been strongly linked with a move for the Spanish star.
In a statement released by Hansi Flick's side, it said: "Barcelona informs that it has applied for a new licence for the players Daniel Olmo and Pau Victor to the Rfef.
"The club would like to deny having requested or receiving any moratorium to any governing body for these inscriptions."
But the Catalan club were issued with a response from La Liga which stipulates that the club “have not provided any alternative that, in compliance with La Liga’s economic control regulations, would allow them to register any player" as of January 2.
Olmo and Victor could be classed as free agents as a result but they could still be registered before the end of the January transfer window, should Barcelona meet the financial requirements. But it has been said that Rfef rules say that a player cannot be signed by the same club twice in the same season.
The 26-year-old has a clause in his contract that allows him to unilaterally depart should the club fail to register him, but posted a cryptic Instagram post to celebrate the new year seemingly suggesting he is looking to add to five goals so far in the Spanish top-flight. His post prompted a response from teammates Lamine Yamal and Inigo Martinez, who commented, 'Olmo is a culer' and clock emojis respectively.
