Manchester United and Manchester City's final positions in the Premier League table have been predicted.

United and City went head-to-head in the Manchester derby on Sunday as Ruben Amorim's side recorded a 2-1 win away at the Etihad Stadium. Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo scored the decisive goals for United to beat Pep Guardiola's team on away soil.

City are fifth in the table and nine points behind Liverpool who are at the Premier League summit and have a game in hand. United, meanwhile, remain in 13th place despite claiming all three points in dramatic style.

With 16 matches in the Premier League now completed, a supercomputer has attempted to predict how the final table may look at the end of the campaign. BettingExpert.com have used their own system known as BETSiE to predict where United and City will finish in the final standings at the end of May.

The prediction has tipped City to finish fourth at the end of the season, with Liverpool crowned as league champions. Guardiola and Co. are tipped to finish with 70 points, which would be more than 11 adrift of the 81.2 prediction for the Merseyside club.

Chelsea and Arsenal are predicted to finish second and third, respectively, and occupy the remaining Champions League qualifying spots. For United, though, it seems that a place in Europe's premier cup competition may not be on the cards next term.

Amorim and Co. have been handed a final prediction of eighth place, which could be behind the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Newcastle. United will apparently finish on 57.1 points according to the prediction, which would be nearly 13 behind City in fourth.

At the other end of the table, the prediction believes that Southampton, Ipswich Town and Leicester City will be the clubs relegated to the Championship.
