British football brand Mitre, the official ball supplier of the Emirates FA Cup & Adobe Women’s FA Cup, has unveiled limited-edition winners’ balls for the first time.

Manchester United’s men’s and women’s teams, as the current holders of the cups, will be presented with a Mitre winners’ ball. They will first use their ball at the third round of the Emirates FA Cup and fourth round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup, and will continue to use it until the finals if they make it to Wembley Stadium.

It comes days after Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta complained about the difference between the Carabao Cup ball and the Premier League ball as the Gunners were beaten 2-0 by Newcastle in the first leg of their semi-final.

"I think we kicked a lot of the balls over the bar and it is tricky, this ball flies a lot," the Arsenal manager said.

"We discuss that as well so there are details we can do better. But in the end, that's gone. This is no way back, it is about the next game.

"That is our world. It is just different, very different to the Premier League ball and you have to adapt to that because it flies differently. When you touch it, the grip is very different as well and you have to adapt."

These distinctive Ultimax Pro footballs celebrate Mitre’s rich football heritage, with a design inspired by the Mitre Ultimax from the late 90s that was given to the champions of the Premier League. While steeped in history, the winners' balls have been reimagined for the modern game and are expected to become a coveted collector’s item with less than 500 made.

The designs for the 2024-25 Emirates FA Cup and Adobe Women’s FA Cup Ultimax Pro footballs have been enhanced for these special winners’ balls with bright, gold accents that highlight the magic of the cup and 'bring pride to the reigning champions’ play'.

Simon Rowe, Senior Vice President of Mitre & Global Sports Marketing at Pentland Brands, said: “We’re always looking to bring something new and exciting to the game, and the introduction of the winners’ balls is a perfect way to celebrate the reigning champions, Manchester United.

“The Emirates FA Cup and Adobe Women’s FA Cup create so many unforgettable moments for players and fans, and we hope the Winners’ Balls add an extra layer of excitement and prestige to this iconic competition.”
