Man United 'set' Alejandro Garnacho transfer valuation as Ruben Amorim identifies striker plan
Manchester United are back in action when they host Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday. Ruben Amorim's side will be looking to get back to winning ways following Sunday's drab 3-1 defeat to Brighton.
Amorim was frustrated after losing at home to the Seagulls, with the Portuguese branding this United side as 'maybe, the worst-ever' in the club's history in his post-match press conference. He also smashed a TV in the dressing room after displaying his annoyance to the United squad.
The former Sporting CP boss, however, clarified his comments on Wednesday and admitted he was more talking about himself than the players. It appears that Amorim has taken responsibility for their latest defeat and recent woes, with United winning just one of their last six Premier League matches.

While attention for United is on the clash with Rangers at Old Trafford, there is work going on behind-the-scenes regarding business in the January transfer window. With this in mind, Manchester Evening News have taken a look at the least media rumours and latest from United.
Garnacho valuation
Manchester United are willing to cash in on Alejandro Garnacho if Napoli meet their £70million valuation, it has been claimed. Antonio Conte's side have offered around £50m plus add-ons for Garnacho - but United are demanding a higher fee for the Argentina international.
According to The Mirror, Ruben Amorim's United are seeking around the £70m mark to secure Garnacho's services in the January transfer window. Chelsea are also monitoring the situation and keen on signing him this month.
MEN says: United's valuation of Garnacho is reasonable. He hasn't done enough in his United career to justify a higher asking price, though at just 20 years of age and with massive potential, he can be a nice pick up for the likes of Napoli and Chelsea, who are interested signing him.
But right now, Garnacho doesn't suit Amorim's formation and has scored just the one goal and added one assist in 14 matches since the Portuguese became their next permanent head coach. If United receive a bid of £70m or higher, it would make sense to sell him and get rid.
Striker solution
According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is looking at in-house options to address the lack of goals in his squad at present. Former Arsenal youngster, now United academy star Chido Obi-Martin, is reportedly being observed closely by the Portuguese.
He has been invited into first team training so Amorim can cast his eye on his development. The 17-year-old has nine goals in eight appearances for United's U18s.
MEN says: With United's budget tight, it makes sense that Amorim is looking at youth and whether he can find the next gem from the academy. Obi-Martin does look like he has a very bright future and bringing him into the first-team fold might not be a bad idea.
Although with United struggling at the moment, would it be the best environment to come into? That remains to be seen but it would be invaluable career experience, at the very least. It's safe to say United need a spark at the top end of the pitch, however.
