Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford has taken to Instagram after Ruben Amorim's comments when asked about the forward.

United beat Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage on Monday night thanks to a deflected effort from Lisandro Martinez. After the final whistle, despite the victory, the topic of Rashford was brought up.

When asked about Rashford, Amorim replied: "It's the same, it's always the same reason. "The reason is the training, the way I see what footballers should do in training, in life, it's every day, every detail.

"So if things don't change, I will not change. It's the same situation for every player.

"If you do the maximum, if you do the right things, we can use every player. And you can see it today on the bench, we miss a little bit of pace to go and change the game, move some pieces.

"But I prefer it like that. I will put Jorge Vital [United's 63-year-old goalkeeping coach] on before I put a player on that don’t give the maximum every day.

"So I will not change in that department." MEN Sport reported that United reiterated the observation was applicable to all players, not just Rashford.

Rashford then took to Instagram to congratulate his teammates on the victory, making no reference to the comments in Amorim's press conference. He wrote on his story: "Congratulations on the win lads."

Since admitting last month that he was open to starting a new chapter away from his boyhood club, Rashford has not played a single minute for United. He made just one matchday squad, against Newcastle, but he was an unused substitute.

"For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps," Rashford said. "When I leave it's going to be 'no hard feelings'. If I know that a situation is already bad I'm not going to make it worse.

"I've seen how other players have left in the past and I don't want to be that person.

"When I leave I'll make a statement and it will be from me."
