Manchester United's January transfer window could be interesting despite the pessimistic overlook surrounding the club at the moment.

United currently sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table and are only seven points clear of the relegation zone. MEN Sport understands there is currently no budget for transfers and are relying on selling players before buying to avoid a Premier League Financial Fair Play (FFP) sanction.

Despite these challenging factors, there is still talk among bookmakers about potential incomings and outgoings this window. The Manchester Evening News has taken a closer look at the moves that United are tipped to be sanctioning this winter.

Sales

According to Bet365, United have a Brazilian duo who are most likely to leave the club should the Reds be able to find suitable transfers for them in January. First up is Antony, who has failed to deliver since being signed for £82m by Erik ten Hag.

Ruben Amorim has used the winger sparingly and when he has played, it does not seem like the 24-year-old fits in the 3-4-3 system. Considering the emergence of Amad, Antony has been pushed down the pecking order to a point where a move away is best for all parties.

Currently, the forward is still most likely to remain at United beyond the January window. However, should he leave, his most likely destinations are a return to Ajax, priced at 11/2, a move to any Saudi Arabian team at 15/2 or a switch to Real Betis at 8/1.

Meanwhile, Casemiro also finds himself in the shop window with Amorim preferring to prioritise Manuel Ugarte in the defensive midfield position. Considering his high wages, the former Real Madrid man would be at the top of the list to sell.

At the moment, staying at Old Trafford appears the most likely option but a move to any Saudi Arabian team is priced at 5/2. Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken previously about wanting to play with Casemiro again so a transfer to Al Nassr could be tempting.

Signings

Should they complete those two sales, United should have a bit more wiggle room for signings. Viktor Gyokeres is still deemed to be the top target for the Reds as they look to sign a proven goalscorer.

The Daily Star reports Amorim has demanded to sign Gyokeres in January to fix United's attack but he is currently still favourite to remain at Sporting this winter. United are priced at 9/2 so the prospect is not ruled out altogether but they could be challenged by Arsenal (16/1) and Barcelona (20/1).

Meanwhile, an alternative to Gyokeres could be Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku. The Frenchman is currently playing second fiddle to Nicolas Jackson at Stamford Bridge and may want more regular football in the Premier League.

He is also a favourite to remain at his current club but at 7/1, United are the best priced team to sign him should he leave. PSG (8/1) and RB Leipzig (12/1) are also tipped to be keeping an eye on him.

Finally, with United looking for a left-back, Nkunku's teammate Ben Chilwell has been linked. An exit from Chelsea is a priority for him this winter and the Reds have been linked with him in the past.

However, at 16/1, Amorim's side are considered to be outsiders. His most likely destination is West Ham priced at 10/3 with Atletico Madrid following just behind at 4/1.
