Man United's Casemiro exit hope explained after January transfer window shuts
Manchester United midfielder Casemiro could still leave Old Trafford this month for a fee despite the January transfer window closing in the UK.
United's defensive midfielder is now the highest-paid player at the club following Marcus Rashford's loan move to Aston Villa but is on the fringes of the first team. Casemiro was heavily linked with a switch to the Saudi Pro League in January with Cristiano Ronaldo having reportedly urged Al Nassr to snap him up.
However, the Middle East club chose to invest their money into Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran leaving Casemiro without an option there. The Saudi Pro League window closed earlier than the UK's so it seemed that the Brazilian may be stuck on the fringes of the United squad until the summer.

Thankfully for United and the player, there is a chance that the Reds can still cash in on Casemiro this month despite the window being closed for many clubs, although it is a slim one. Galatasaray have previously held an interest in signing the midfielder, according to ESPN, and it is possible they may choose to revitalise that interest with options running out for Casemiro.
The Turkish transfer window, unlike most of Europe, remains open until February 11 giving Casemiro ample opportunity to negotiate a move to the Istanbul club. While United are not able to purchase any players from Turkish clubs between now and next Tuesday, they are allowed to sell squad members.
With Ineos prioritising cutting costs currently, they will no doubt be looking at Turkey as a possible destination for Casemiro but it remains to be seen with the ex-Real Madrid man would be open to a move. MEN Sport understands Rashford turned down a move to Turkey before joining Villa.
Since taking over in November, Ruben Amorim has only played Casemiro on four occasions in the Premier League. That last of these appearances was on December 30 against Newcastle.
