Manchester United 'agree £42m Leny Yoro' transfer fee in race to beat Real Madrid to Lille star
Manchester United have received a major boost in their bid to sign Leny Yoro.
According to Sky Sports, a £42million bid has been agreed in principle with Lille for the teenager to join the Red Devils.
Lille are ready to cash in on Yoro, 18, ahead of his contract expiring next year but rival interest from Real Madrid complicates matters.
Reports in Spain insist that the player would prefer to sign for Los Blancos and they are happy to either negotiate a fee with Lille now or wait until 2025 and bring him over as a free agent.
For now, it remains to be seen whether Yoro would accept an earlier move to Man Utd or whether Madrid can agree a deal for this transfer window with Lille.
United are widely reported to want at least one new centre-back this summer as well as a defensive midfielder and a striker.
Matthijs de Ligt is also in talks over moving to Old Trafford with personal terms agreed, according to the Mirror, as negotiations continue with Bayern Munich over their £42m valuation. Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite is another option but the Toffees are reportedly ready to rebuff a second offer of £50m.
Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte is also on their radar and French outlet Le10Sport claim talks have accelerated in recent days over a deal worth £38m plus bonuses. PSG coach Luis Enrique is said to have the final say on his club selling the Uruguayan.
United are also closing in on an addition in attack, too, with Joshua Zirkzee expected to join from Bologna for his £34m release clause after beating off competition from AC Milan.
