Manchester United 'consider' Sporting CP transfer as Bayern Munich stance becomes clear
Ousmane Diomande is once again being linked with a move to Manchester United. The Sporting CP centre-back has impressed for his side over the past couple of years and previously worked with Ruben Amorim.
However, according to A Bola, via Sports Witness, United are not the only Premier League considering in signing Diomande. They claim that Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in securing the 21-year-old’s signature.
But in twist to the speculation, the report also claims that Bayern Munich are eyeing a move for Diomande as Vincent Kompany is keen to improve his defensive depth as he attempts to reclaim the Bundesliga title.

The report also suggests that, despite his €80 million release clause, Sporting would be willing to part ways with the centre-back for an offer in the region of €50-60 million. Diomande has been near ever-present for Sporting in the league so far, playing 16 of the 17 fixtures.
However, speaking to Spox earlier this month, Bayern director Max Eberl played down the prospect of his side doing any business this month. He said: “We have a squad that is sufficiently equipped in terms of quantity and quality. We have no interest in doing anything in January."
Speaking back to A Bola back in 2013, Diomande's agent Luis Cassaiano Neves explained why Sporting is the perfect club for his client. He said: “He is extremely satisfied at Sporting, he is very focused on the club and the objectives for this season, which include winning the national title and improving.
"And he knows that Sporting is the ideal club for this evolution. The player will be happy to sit at the table with Sporting but so far there is nothing. Sporting is Diomande’s present and future, he wants to evolve but there is nothing regarding renewal.”
