Manchester United could be about to hijack key transfer Jamie Carragher wanted for Liverpool
Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez has emerged as a proposed transfer target for Manchester United as the January window rolls on.
United are still yet to make their first signing in 2025 - since the window opened on January 1. Ruben Amorim has been in the Old Trafford dugout since early November and is yet to make any new additions to his squad.
The Manchester Evening News reported last month that United currently have no budget to make new signings before the transfer window closes. United will have to sell existing members of the squad to raise funds to make any new signings before the deadline on February 3.

Kerkez has been linked with United for several months, while he has also reportedly been on the radar for rivals Liverpool, as well. It's understood that United are one of several clubs interested in signing Kerkez, with the AFC Bournemouth left-back still a priority position for Amorim's squad - which is in need of reinforcements.
Amid fresh interest from United, Jamie Carragher has already reserved high praise for the Cherries' defender. The former Liverpool defender noted why Kerkez is "one to watch" for the future, as United continue their push for a new left-back to effectively replace Luke Shaw moving forward.
"Listen, he's [Kerkez] been a revelation at Bournemouth and the only reason why I mentioned him was, yes, they're [Liverpool] probably looking for somebody in that position," said Carragher on Sky Sports Monday Night Football in December.
"But the fact that the sporting director who brought him to Bournemouth Richard Hughes is now sporting director at Liverpool. He's aggressive, he's got pace and even when you look at him, he looks like a full-back, you know little and really aggressive after wingers on that side.
"He's just bombing up and down on that left-hand side. He's been superb since he's come in to the Premier League with Bournemouth and he's one to watch for the future, whether he stays or he moves on, because he's made that much of an impact."
