Manchester United could soon unleash exciting youngster who is perfect for Ruben Amorim
Over the past couple of weeks, we have been used to seeing Manchester United’s bench full of academy youngsters.
The club’s injury crisis has meant that Ruben Amorim has had to rely on a crop of players from both the Under 21 and Under 18 sides. Of those called up to the United squad, only Chido Obi has so far tasted first team action.
However, with both Lisandro Martinez and Jonny Evans suffering long term injuries, it would be no shock if Amorim turns to 18-year-old defender Ayden Heaven in the coming weeks.

The 18-year-old was viewed as a senior signing when he joined from Arsenal last week and he was involved in first team training from the moment he joined.
Unlike the majority of United’s current youngsters, Heaven has previous first team experience having appeared in the EFL Cup for Arsenal in a 3-0 win over Preston North End. He had featured in several first team squads before his switch to Old Trafford. Like Chido Obi, who also joined United from Arsenal, it was the opportunity to for senior minutes that attracted Heaven to United.
A left footed centre half by trade, he can play at left back and has also been used as a box to box midfielder during his time in the Arsenal and West Ham academies. He is tactically flexible although if Amorim was to give him minutes, it would likely be on the left side of the back three, a position vacated by Martinez who is out injured.
Amorim regularly makes five subs during games, in part due to experimentation and performances, but also due to the high intensity of his system. At 6ft 2, Heaven should have little to no issue with the physical aspects of the Premier League while his impressive passing ability are further positive characteristics. He might get a taste of first team action in a United shirt sooner rather than later.
