Manchester United's business in the winter transfer window has dissatisfied most supporters with an overwhelming majority suggesting a new striker is needed.

The Reds had a quiet window with Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven the only two additions to Ruben Amorim's first-team squad. Meanwhile, Diego Leon joined from Paraguayan team Cerro Porteno, however, due to post-Brexit regulations, the 17-year-old won't be in Manchester until at least his 18th birthday in April.

In terms of departures, Tyrell Malacia, Antony, and Marcus Rashford were among the notable names to depart Old Trafford. The latter two's exit has led many to question why United did not sign a forward on loan, at the very least, with the Reds now short of options in attacking areas.

And a poll issued by The Manchester Evening News, which has received over 8,000 responses so far, suggests that United fans are unhappy with the club's business in the most recent transfer window. 46 per cent of respondents have said they are concerned, while 24 per cent are angry.

Of the other responses, 18 per cent are indifferent, nine per cent are content and just three per cent said they were delighted with United's business. The Reds are battling PSR issues and are limited on how much they can spend under Ineos unless they can sell some of their current players.

When asked in which position they feel United are still short in, a huge 84 per cent responded striker. The club's current striker options, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, have netted just 12 goals between them all season.

Sporting's Viktor Gyokeres has been most heavily linked to try and solve United's striker woes, having previously enjoyed success with Amorim at the Portuguese club. Gyokeres has scored 34 goals across all competitions so far in the 2024/25 campaign and has also been linked with Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.
