Manchester United handed Mathys Tel transfer update as £50m approach made
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has remained tight-lipped over a move for Manchester United-linked Mathys Tel.
The French forward is considering a move away from the Bundesliga giants in the January transfer window due to limited game time this season. Bayern boss Vincent Kompany has shown preference for former Tottenham striker Harry Kane in most of their 2024/25 matches.
Reports on Wednesday suggested that United are keen on signing the 19-year-old before Monday's transfer deadline, but they face stiff competition from Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal. It is suggested that Tel could be available for loan which would be an ideal situation for Ruben Amorim's side given their current PSR constraints.

Sky Sports have claimed that Spurs have approached Bayern over a permanent deal for Tel worth £50million. And Postecoglou has now had his say on those reports.
“I can't tell you anything about Tel," he said after Spurs' 3-0 victory over IF Elfsborg in the Europa League on Thursday night.
"I've been focusing on getting the team prepared tonight. Other people are working in the background. As I've said all along, I'm allowing them to get on with it and when and if there's any news, I'm sure I'll find out.”
Bayern have confirmed that the teenager wants to depart the Allianz Arena but offered no indication on what they will do next.
"He has said he would like to leave," said sporting director Max Eberl. "Now we have to think about whether we will do it and what we will do."
United are yet to sign anyone this month but are close to completing a deal for Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu. However, his medical, which could have potentially taken place on Thursday, is reportedly happening on Saturday now.
