Gary Neville stuck to his word by giving a Northern Ireland business a shoutout on his hugely popular Stick to Football podcast. On the latest episode, which featured special guest Wayne Rooney, Neville was wearing a jersey gifted to him by Mystery Shirt in a Box.

The company is based here and run by Bangor man Rory McLaughlin. He got to present the shirt to Neville during the Manchester United legend's recent visit to Belfast.

Neville says in the clip circulating social media: "What's the shirt? Well, last week I went to Ireland. It is very important this, by the way. And I promised a young man, Rory McLaughlin who set up a business called Mystery Shirt in a Box.

"He gave me a shirt, that he sold 100,000 copies. You can go on his website. And he presented me with one. And I basically said I would promote his business on Stick to Football.

"It is a Werder Bremen shirt. I was expecting a Liverpool shirt, to be honest. But it wouldn't have been a mystery then, would it?

"So there you go. Rory McLaughlin. Go on his website www.mysteryshirtinabox.com. He is a young man from Northern Ireland and he has done a brilliant job.

"There you go. Well done Rory."

The video has been viewed thousands of times, much to the delight of Rory.

He said on Instagram: "If you’re big fans of the podcast featuring Gary Neville, Jill Scott, Roy Keane and Ian Wright, you might see a familiar mystery box appear at the beginning of the new episode with Wayne Rooney. Big shoutout to Gary Neville who we met last week in Belfast and had nothing but good things to say to us.

"We can’t believe he took the time to bring our mystery football box back to England with him and bring it onto the podcast to shout out. He didn’t have to do any of it but just shows the class of him helping out a starting business.
