Manchester United are back in Premier League action on Sunday as they welcome high-flying Bournemouth to Old Trafford after three successive away games.

United's momentum after wins at Viktoria Plzen and Manchester City was halted on Thursday night, when they crashed out of the Carabao Cup quarter-finals in a 4-3 defeat to Tottenham.

It was an encouraging display despite the defeat for Ruben Amorim's side, although Victor Lindelof because the third player to pick up an injury recently, joining Luke Shaw and Mason Mount on the sidelines.

Marcus Rashford was once again absent from the squad and Amorim has a decision to make on the forward as United look to continue closing the gap to the European places in the Premier League table.

United should not be too downbeat after the Spurs tie as they played enterprisingly and the progress under Amorim is undeniable on matchdays. But they have got to get a winning run going in the league.

Harry Maguire neutered Erling Haaland last week and Amorim did not entertain the prospect of him coming on against Tottenham. Lisandro Martinez could do with a day on the bench with Matthijs de Ligt likely to be back.

Manuel Ugarte is in fine form and Kobbie Mainoo looked back to his old self at City and Spurs. United need a winger on the wing and that is where Amad should relocate to, with Alejandro Garnacho coming into the front three. United should strike while the iron is hot with Joshua Zirkzee after his midweek impact.

It's pretty obvious there is going to be a change in goal after Thursday night and unless he is injured or suspended, Onana is unlikely to lose the gloves again this season.

In defence, Yoro played well at Tottenham and deserves another start and Martinez can continue despite his rocky display. I would bring Maguire in for Lindelof, considering De Ligt has been unwell this week.

Wing-backs remain an issue. I considered Amad at right wing-back but he's been excelling as a No. 10 recently and his electric form means you want him close to goal. Dalot and Mazraoui go again, with Ugarte and Mainoo getting their second start together in midfield.

Amad and Fernandes get those attacking midfield roles, but I would make a change in attack. Hojlund is ready for a rest and Zirkzee has some confidence after his goal at Tottenham.
