Manchester United drew 2-2 with Everton in their final trip to Goodison Park on Saturday.

The hosts took the lead as Beto capitalised on some poor defending before yet more bad defending allowed Everton to make it 2-0 through Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Bruno Fernandes scored a free-kick to hand United hope before Manuel Ugarte volleyed home to make it 2-2. Beto and Fernandes both went close to winning it as United had a VAR review to thank for a late Everton penalty being overturned.

Here are how the players rated at Goodison Park:

Andre Onana

Had barely any protection in front of him amid the omnishambles and was badly let down by Harry Maguire for the second goal. Made a key save at 2-0. 6

Matthijs de Ligt

One of Erik ten Hag's last gifts to United, the declining defender was overwhelmed and easy prey in the Goodison Park bear pit. 2

Harry Maguire

Did not see Doucoure coming as he got the jump on him for the second goal. A mistake reminiscent of his first season under Ten Hag. 4

Noussair Mazraoui

Soldiered on after an early injury and perhaps wishes he hadn't bothered coming back on during the feeble first half. Eventually went off for Leny Yoro. 5

Diogo Dalot

His consistency to under-perform continued on the right wing, where his use of the ball was seldom polished. Never a threat in attack. 4

Casemiro

Did not have to be picked with Ugarte back and he could barely keep up with the pace of the game. Played some appalling passes. 4

Manuel Ugarte

Out of his depth on his return from injury in the first half and was regressing after a bright period under Ruben Amorim. Then he larruped in a superb equaliser. 6

Patrick Dorgu

Dorgu was bought for the system and has not been ground down by the pressure of playing for United. Two players were booked for fouling him. 7

Bruno Fernandes

Back in an advanced role and initially got worse. Tactically anarchic and his use of the ball was often dreadful until his perfectly struck free kick. Galvanised the team. 7

Joshua Zirkzee

Regressed after a decent performance at Tottenham. Never a goal threat all afternoon and only picked up a tad after Fernandes scored. 5

Rasmus Hojlund

If Zirkzee is harmless then Hojlund is hopeless. A boy among men who did very little right all afternoon. Bullied by James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite. 1

Subs

Alejandro Garnacho

Should have started and gave United a lift when he came on. 7

Leny Yoro

Energised the backline and got on the front foot. 6

Chido Obi

Had more about him than Hojlund. 6

Manager

Made only one change and dropping Alejandro Garnacho was counter-productive when United had worse forwards on the pitch. His changes made the difference. 6
