Three Manchester United stars have been left blown away by the skills of Super League - after getting up close and personal with Wigan Warriors.

United players Harry Maguire, Mason Mount and Andre Onana were at Wigan's Robin Park training complex today to get an inside look at how the Super League and World Club champions are preparing for the new season. And the trio are said to have been left in awe by what they saw as the Warriors put on a training masterclass for the Premier League stars to showcase Super League's defining qualities.

The collab, which was arranged by BetFred, saw the Warriors put on a training clinic to show off the competition's repertoire of talents during the session. It included a masterclass on acrobatic finishes as well as the art of contact and wrestle.

The Red Devils stars were almost given an almighty shock when they were informed that the event included them getting on the wrestle mats with some of Wigan's monster forwards. Eye-witnesses said that Maguire and Onana thought better of it but paid credit to Mount, who was said to be so caught up in the session that onlookers had to remind him of his hamstring injury after being invited onto the mats by Warriors' 18-stone prop Patrick Mago.

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Onana is said to have created a bond with Wigan's rising stars Junior Nsemba and Sam Eseh due to their ties to Cameroon, with United's entourage staying longer than anticipated as the trio were locked in deep conversation. Both Maguire and Mount were said to have been impressed by the culture that had been showcased.

Footage of the session is set to be released shortly to promote the start of the new Super League season, with the Warriors looking to back up an incredible 2024 campaign in which they won the quadruple. Matt Peet's side were named the BBC's Sports Personality Team of the Year for their efforts.
