Manchester United preparing for Amad contract announcement
Manchester United could announce Amad's new contract by the end of this week.
United head coach Ruben Amorim said on Friday the club is "close" to finalising a renewal for Amad. Sources say there are no complications with the 22-year-old's new terms and that the club is preparing for the announcement.
Amad has entered the final six months of his existing deal but United earmarked the winger for a new deal in the summer when he was regarded as an integral squad member.

Amad enjoyed a breakthrough year with United in 2024, scoring memorable winners against Liverpool and Manchester City. He made his first meaningful Premier League start against Arsenal in May.
The Ivory Coast international has started 18 times this season and has lined up in 11 of United's 16 matches since Erik ten Hag was sacked in October. Amad started in one of Ten Hag's last six fixtures in charge.
United signed Amad from Atalanta for £19million rising to £37m on transfer deadline day in October 2020. He made his debut against Real Sociedad in February 2021 and spent the second half of the 2021-22 season on loan at Rangers before a vibrant season-long loan at Sunderland in 2022-23.
The 2-2 draw with Liverpool was Amad's 50th appearance for United and he has scored nine goals.
