Manchester United sent new 'bid' for Alejandro Garnacho as Chelsea target 'agrees' transfer
Ruben Amorim will be eager to extend Manchester United's three-game unbeaten streak this weekend. The Red Devils will lock horns with Brighton at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon as they both look to climb the Premier League table.
Amad fired United to a dramatic 3-1 win over Southampton on Thursday night, meanwhile, the Seagulls enjoyed a 2-0 win over Ipswich Town. The Red Devils may have waltzed away victorious, but they were disappointing for much of the clash.
Fortunately for Amorim, there's still time to strengthen his squad before the January transfer window slams shut. So, with that being said, the Manchester Evening News has rounded up the latest United news and transfer gossip.

United sent new bid for Garnacho
According to Italian outlet Tuttosport, Napoli have submitted a second and improved bid for Alejandro Garnacho. The report states that Antonio Conte's side had previously offered United £40m for the 20-year-old winger, and now they're prepared to pay £46.5m (€55m).
It's said that Garnacho, who has also been linked with a move to Chelsea, has already agreed personal terms with Napoli; a five-year deal worth £2.5m (€3m). However, Tuttosport adds that United are holding out for £60m and they wont let the Argentine leave for anything less.
The MEN says: "If I were Manchester United, I would negotiate a sell-on fee – or maybe even a buy-back clause – and accept Napoli's bid. That's a great offer. Unless Alejandro Garnacho pulls his finger out and picks up his performances, I can't see the Red Devils getting much more than that in the future."
United flop nears La Liga move
According to ABC de Sevilla, Real Betis have submitted a second bid to sign Antony, raising the loan fee. The Spanish newspaper, who were the first to report on the club's interest earlier this month, states that the United winger is keen on a move to La Liga.
It's said that Antony is prioritising Betis, who can offer Conference League football. ABC de Sevilla add that United are aware that they will need to contribute to the Brazilian's wages, but they are seeking guarantees over the 24-year-old's playtime.
The MEN says: "I'm surprised Manchester United didn't accept Sevilla's first bid! I'd let Antony leave for free! He's been a disastrous signing and, still to this day, it blows my mind just how much the Red Devils paid for him..."
United given Toney instruction
Ben Jacobs has named Ivan Toney as a potential target for United. Speaking to National World, the TBR Football reporter said: "I would still just keep, in the back pocket if you like, an eye on Ivan Toney.
"That’s because we know Manchester United have looked in the past. There’s nothing to suggest yet that Toney’s chapter in Saudi is going to come to an end, and I certainly wouldn’t want to fuel belief that Manchester United are active on it yet.
"But I hear from a lot of sources that come the summer or maybe even January 2026 that the Toney situation is going to be one to watch."
The MEN says: "It's not the worst suggestion, but I'm not convinced that Ivan Toney is what Manchester United need at the moment. Sir Jim Ratcliffe MUST go for Viktor Gyokeres in the summer (assuming the Sporting striker would be happy to not play Champions League football next season)."
