Manchester United sent Rasmus Hojlund warning amid £86m Viktor Gyokeres transfer talk
Manchester United signing Viktor Gyokeres would be "harsh" on current Reds forward Rasmus Hojlund.
That is the verdict of former United forward Teddy Sheringham, who believes splashing the cash on Gyokeres represents a risk.
Gyokeres has scored 31 goals in 29 games for Portuguese side Sporting CP, following on from an incredible 43-goal haul in all competitions last season.

He is a player who is well known to United manager Ruben Amorim, given he signed him for Sporting from Coventry City, and with United's forwards not producing in front of goal, speculation is rife over a potential reunion between the pair at Old Trafford.
Hojlund has scored seven goals in 23 appearances this term, while Joshua Zirkzee has only scored four times since his move from Bologna.
However, Sheringham feels there are mitigating circumstances for Hojlund's goal record and he feels the Danish forward can come good for United if he is allowed the time to develop.
"Man United signing Viktor Gyokeres would be harsh on Rasmus Hojlund," Sheringham told BoyleSports, who offer the latest Premier League odds.
"Hojlund has been feeding off scraps for the last 18 months and I think he's done very well to find himself on the score sheet in the amount of times that he has.
"Gyokeres might be a slight step up but when you go out and spend the money they did on Hojlund instead of going for Harry Kane at the time, they obviously think he's a good player.
"He's still learning his trade and he's still a young man. Gyokeres is proven in Portugal but the Premier League is a different game, especially when it comes to stepping up week in and week out.
"His confidence is high in Portugal but it would take time to adapt for him and bringing him in would also harm Hojlund’s prospects."
