How Manchester United staff reacted to decision on Alejandro Garnacho in January window
Manchester United staff are relieved the club did not sell Alejandro Garnacho in the winter transfer window.
United rejected an offer from Napoli and Chelsea expressed interest but the 20-year-old winger has remained at the club.
Dressing room sources dreaded the prospect of Garnacho’s sale and believe it would have caused uproar among United supporters. A separate source also admitted it would have been impossible for the club to have framed the possible departure of Garnacho as a positive.

The sale of an academy graduate represents pure profit in the books, so they are greatly beneficial to operate within Profit and Sustainability rules (PSR), but Garnacho has been kept.
Just like Marcus Rashford, Garnacho was dropped from United's squad for the Manchester derby in December, but the youngster has fought his way back into Ruben Amorim's team.
Garnacho has contributed eight goals and six assists this season, and he made a significant impact when he came on from the bench against FCSB in the Europe League last week.
A few weeks ago, Amorim was asked about a potential sale of Garnacho in January and the importance of being able to reinvest the funds in the market, if a transfer was given the green light.
"Guys, I understand the question, but let's focus on the game, I don't want to talk about that, especially before a game," said Amorim. "Our focus is on the players that are here to play, we need to improve and win games to have that feeling of winning, so let's focus on that today."
United weren't in the position of being forced to sell Garnacho, but an offer would have been considered for the youngster if a suitable sum had been put down on the negotiating table.
