Manchester United star wants Barcelona transfer as Jose Mourinho prepares shock January offer
Ruben Amorim will be desperate to return to winning ways this weekend after four successive defeats across all competitions. Liverpool will lock horns with Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday afternoon in what is expected to be a one-sided affair.
The Red Devils suffered a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle on Monday night, falling to 14th in the Premier League table. They are now seven points from the relegation zone and 13 from the Champions League qualification places.
Fortunately for Amorim, who will be looking to transform his side's fortunes this month, the January transfer window has – of course – opened. So, with that being said, the Manchester Evening News has rounded up the latest United news and transfer gossip.

Rashford holds out for Barcelona transfer
According to the MailOnline, Marcus Rashford has rejected three offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia. The 27-year-old forward faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford after admitting that he's 'ready for a new challenge'.
The report states that United are prepared to let Rashford leave this month after he was recently dropped by Amorim. It's said that the England international has turned down offers worth £35m-a-year from teams in the Saudi Pro League, as well as any moves to Turkey.
Meanwhile, talkSPORT have reported that Rashford is holding out for a switch to Barcelona. The report claims that the United ace wants to move to Spain, with the Catalan outfit placed at the top of his wishlist.
That said, Barcelona can't currently register any new players due to Financial Fair Play regulations and La Liga rules. The club have had to remove Dani Olmo and Pau Victor from their registered squad list in an effort to combat their financial problems.
Manchester Evening News says: "Barcelona would be great move for Marcus Rashford, so it's a shame that a permanent switch looks to be off the cards. A loan with an option to buy perhaps?"
Mourinho wants United reunion
According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Jose Mourinho wants to sign Victor Lindelof in the January transfer window. The 30-year-old defender faces an uncertain future at United, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
The report states that Fenerbahçe are expected to make an offer for Lindelof 'soon'. It's said that the former Chelsea, United and Tottenham Hotspur boss has 'approved' the transfer, giving higher-ups the green light to sign the Sweden international.
Manchester Evening News says: "Jose Mourinho loves a reunion! This could be a great move for all parties involved, so long as United aren't afraid to promote a player from the academy or sign a new centre-back in Victor Lindelof's absence."
