Manchester United are in talks with Lecce to sign left wing-back Patrick Dorgu.

The Reds are keen to strengthen their wing-back options ahead of the transfer window closing on February 3 and Dorgu has been identified as a player of interest. The 20-year-old is naturally left-sided but can also play on the right.

The Manchester Evening News understands talks between United and the Italian club are ongoing but nothing has been finalised at this stage.

United desperately need to add fresh blood to their squad before the end of the window following a run of four defeats in their last six Premier League matches. The club does not have a budget for this month's window, meaning exits will be key to their hopes of adding to head coach Ruben Amorim's squad. Antony is understood to be close to leaving for Real Betis on loan.

Tyrell Malacia is also being strongly linked with an exit and speculation concerning Marcus Rashford's future continues to rumble on. He is being linked with a cluster of European sides, including AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.

Dorgu, who has been on Lecce's books since 2022, has made 22 appearances for the Serie A outfit this season, chipping in with three goals and one assist. He has operated from the left and the right throughout the campaign.

The youngster is also a Danish international, so far earning four caps for his country. He made his debut via the bench in a 2-0 Nations League win over Switzerland in September, marking the occasion by scoring with his very first touch.
