Marcus Rashford took part in Manchester United training on Wednesday morning.

Rashford last played for United against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on December 12. He was recalled to the squad to face Newcastle on December 30 but was an unused substitute.

Ruben Amorim previously said he was willing to "help" Rashford, but United's head coach said "it's his choice" when he was asked about his absence after Sunday's defeat to Brighton.

Sources have clarified Rashford, who outlined his desire for a "new challenge" last month, has not declared himself unavailable and he took part in training at Carrington on Wednesday.

Amorim has been regularly asked about Rashford since he was dropped from the squad to face Manchester City and further questions about the 27-year-old's future, and his availability to face Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday night, will be asked at his pre-match press conference.

Victor Lindelof, who has been absent since sustaining an injury against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup, took part in training but there was no sign of Luke Shaw, Jonny Evans or Mason Mount.

Shaw is further along in his recovery than Mount and should return in the next few weeks, but United are looking to sign a new left-back and have shown an interest in Patrick Dorgu.

Although Antony is set to join Real Betis on loan for the remainder of the season, he was present during the session at Carrington.

United have won their last three games in the Europa League, beating PAOK, Bodo/Glimt and Viktoria Plzen, but each match has been a contest and Rangers will hope to take all three points.

Rangers are 13 points behind Celtic in the Scottish top-flight, which has placed Philippe Clement under pressure, but they are just one point behind United in the Europa League table.

Outfield players in training before Rangers:

Defenders: Lindelof, Malacia, Maguire, De Ligt, Yoro, Martinez, Dalot, Mazraoui.

Midfielders: Casemiro, Mainoo, Collyer, Eriksen, Ugarte, Fernandes.

Attackers: Rashford, Zirkzee, Antony, Amad, Garnacho, Hojlund.
