Manchester United star Antony is set to travel to Spain on Friday night to complete his loan move to Real Betis, it has been reported.

The winger will move to the La Liga side in hope of reigniting his career after stalling at Old Trafford. He cost the club £81m in 2022 after Erik ten Hag’s appointment, following him from Ajax.

Since moving to England, he has made 96 appearances and scored 12 goals. This season, he has appeared only 14 times, scoring once against League One side Barnsley.

After coming off the bench in five of the previous seven Premier League games, Antony was an unused substitute during Thursday night’s clash with Rangers.

Concerns had been raised in recent days that his move to Betis had stalled due to the Brazilian’s salary split. The Spanish side are understood to want United to pay a significant fee of his wages but that problem now seems to have been solved.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that the forward will travel down to Sevilla on Friday night to complete his move. The documents of the move have been approved with no buy back clause included, meaning he will return to Old Trafford in the summer.

As part of the report, it is also revealed that Antony’s wages will be shared between the two clubs. It has been revealed that Betis will pay 84 per cent of the Brazilian's reported £200,000 per-week wage, meaning United’s concerns with FFP could be eased with them saving a portion of the 24-year-old’s salary.

That would mean Betis are set to pay £168,000 per week for Antony's services, with United chipping in with the rest.
