Manchester United transfer 'target' Jonathan David subject of £10m bid from unnamed club
An unnamed club has made a bid in the region of £10million for Lille forward and long-term Manchester United transfer target Jonathan David, according to the latest reports.
Goals have been few and far between at Old Trafford with Ruben Amorim's side ranked 15th for goals scored in the Premier League this campaign, boasting an unwanted goal difference of -4 heading into the second half of the season.
United remain linked with a sleuth of strikers in the window transfer window, which closes in less than a week on February 3. The club is monitoring a potential deal for Bayern Munich's Mathys Tel with German transfer guru Florian Plettenberg claiming that United are interested in signing the Frenchman, but only if Alejandro Garnacho or Marcus Rashford were to leave the club.

Twenty-five-year-old David has notched an impressive 18 goals in 31 outings for Lille this season and has less than six months remaining on his current contract. The record Canadian goal scorer is expected to leave the French side for free in the summer and has attracted interest from a number of Premier League suitors including Newcastle and Liverpool.
Our sister title, Chronicle Live reports that the Ligue 1 club has been approached in January by clubs who have attempted to get a deal done as soon as possible. However, an offer from one club - believed to be around £10million for David - was swiftly rejected by Lille.
Amorim might be anxiously observing David's situation as he continues to watch both Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggle to find form in front of goal this season with five goals in 41 games between the pair. Former target Randal Kolo Muani has got off to a goal-scoring start with Juventus after joining on loan from PSG.
The Reds have been repeatedly linked with a move for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, though a move this month is unlikely. However, it's not all quite in terms of incomings with Man United closing in on a deal to bring in Leece left-wing-back Patrick Dorgu to Old Trafford.
