Manchester United unveil 2024-25 home kit with unique Busby Babes concept
Manchester United have unveiled their new home kit for the 2024-25 season.
The red shirt is matched with white trim and white shorts and Snapdragon begin their stint as the main sponsor, after a £60million deal was struck with the American tech firm to replace TeamViewer.
Adidas are behind the new kit’s design which is inspired by a “fluorescent” concept introduced during United’s famous Busby Babes era to help the players spot each other under floodlights.
Scott McTominay, Lisandro Martinez, Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund all featured in the unveiling on Monday.
Fans can now purchase the home kit with prices starting at £80 for adult shirts.
Adidas describe the concept as: “[Taking] design cues from classic shirts worn by the Busby Babes, that were designed with ‘fluorescent’ materials to help the players see each other better under the floodlights.
“The rayon style fabric appeared to be a different shade of red, depending on how light reflected off it under the stadium’s floodlights. For the 2024-25 expression, bold combinations of red have been blended to form a light to dark red gradient, running down the main body of the shirt – giving the appearance of an ever-changing colour.
“A final bright, flame-like red insert – in a colour expression never seen before on a Manchester United home kit - runs down the side panel of the jersey and shorts, creating a connecting line that stands out against the stadium backdrop as players are in motion.”
