Manchester United vs. Wolves highlights: Kobbie Mainoo scores winning goal in frantic finish

Pablo Sarabia converted a penalty kick in the 71st minute to cut the lead to 2-1, but substitute Scott McTominany quickly restored United's two-goal cushion.

Max Kilman scored for Wolves to make it 3-2 in the 85th minute and Pedro Neto found the back of the net in the 95th, with the hosts thinking they had secured a comeback draw – until Mainoo's goal just two minutes later.

After blowing a two-goal lead in the final minutes of the game, Manchester United got a 97th-minute winner from 18-year-old Kobbie Mainoo to secure all three points in a wild affair at the Molineux Stadium.

Two minutes after giving up a stunning equalizer, Manchester United's Kobbie Mainoo answered with his own goal, surely a winner in the 97th minute. The 18-year-old Mainoo drove through the Wolves defense and finessed a shot to the far post past goalkeeper Jose Sa.

Scott McTominay goal restores United's two-goal lead

Minutes after Wolves pulled a goal back on Pablo Sarabia's penalty kick, Scott McTominay headed home a corner kick – less than two minutes seconds after coming on a substitute. It was the sixth goal of the season for the Scotsman.

Rasmus Højlund scored in the 22nd minute to put Manchester United ahead 2-0, tapping in a cross from Luke Shaw at the near post. It's the 20-year-old Dane's third goal in three Premier League matches

It took just five minutes for Manchester United to score, with Marcus Rashford finding the back of the net from the edge of the penalty area.

Marcus Rashford returns to Manchester United lineup

After being left out of the squad to face Newport County in the FA Cup over the weekend, Marcus Rashford is back in the starting lineup for Manchester United on Thursday. Rashford was disciplined by the club and manager Erik Ten Hag after being seen out partying in Belfast last week.

"We didn't select him on Sunday. He's taken responsibility, and the case is closed. We move on," Ten Hag said.
