Manchester United XI vs Leicester: Starting lineup, confirmed team news - Harry Maguire starts
Harry Maguire is deemed fit enough to start for Manchester United at former club Leicester this afternoon.
Maguire has been out with a calf injury and only returned to full training on the grass late in the week, but he’s in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting XI at the King Power Stadium.
The England defender partners Victor Lindelof, with Raphael Varane set to be out for a few weeks with the groin injury he suffered while playing for France over the international break.
Marcus Rashford is fit again after recovering from shoulder surgery and is on the bench.
Cristiano Ronaldo will lead the line after his stunning, record hat-trick for Portugal against Luxembourg.
United are missing Fred and Edinson Cavani, who were involved in a South American World Cup qualifier in the early hours of Friday morning.
“With regards to Fred and Edinson, they played a full game this morning, half 1 it kicked off, so of course we’re not counting on them,” said Solskjaer.
“We’ve got to give them the time to rest and recover, which of course you have to.
“They played well, and that was a good thing for us. They’re not injured, so hopefully they can be involved again in midweek, for the Champions League [game versus Atalanta].”
