Manchester United star Manuel Ugarte has sent a message to one of his former Paris Saint-Germain teammates.

Ugarte starred for United in their 2-2 draw with Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. The Uruguay international played the full 90 minutes in midfield and put in an impressive performance alongside Kobbie Mainoo at Anfield.

United signed Ugarte from PSG last summer in a deal worth £42.3million and was the final signing of the Erik ten Hag era before Ruben Amorim's arrival in November. Ugarte has since made 22 appearances for United, and has become one of the first names on the team sheet at Old Trafford.

After starring against Liverpool on Sunday, Ugarte issued a message on social media to his 1.1million followers. The 23-year-old included the post with several photos from the draw at Anfield.

"Hard-fought battle at Anfield," wrote Ugarte on Instagram. "Great effort from everyone. Let’s keep pushing with humility."

The post received more than 250,000 likes and numerous comments, one of which came from a former teammate of Ugarte's. Lee Kang-in of PSG sent a three-word message to the United midfielder, who previously played alongside Ugarte during their pair's time in the French capital.

"What a player," Lee wrote on Ugarte's post. This led to a response from the United midfielder, who offered a tongue-in-cheek replay about the pair potentially reuniting on the pitch.

"Let's see when you come to visit me," Ugarte wrote.

Ugarte will hope to return to the United starting line-up once again when they face Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup this weekend. United's next Premier League fixture will be on January 16 at home to Southampton.
