How many players Sunderland want to sign in January - and what Le Bris is looking for
SUNDERLAND will prioritise quality over quantity in the January transfer window, with Regis Le Bris revealing the Black Cats will focus on adding "one or two players" to his squad next month.
And those players will be attackers.
Sunderland's lack of depth in the forward areas has been highlighted in recent weeks after injuries to Romaine Mundle and Tommy Watson, while striker Wilson Isidor continues to impress Le Bris but has gone six games without a goal.
Le Bris has previously confirmed that strengthening the attack will be the priority in January and that remains unchanged. But he doesn't want to make signings for the sake of it and only wants players who he knows will be the right fit for his side and the dressing room.
He also doesn't want to halt the progress of some of the younger members of his squad.

"We'll have specific attention on one or two players who can help, but it's not an easy task," said Le Bris.
"The group is strong with many young players and surprises. Some of them were not expected to play at that level but because they've had opportunities to play, which is the identity of the club, they've shown they are able to play.
"Now it's a question of consistency, injuries and opportunities as well. It's a question of connection.
"It's not just signing a player, it's someone who has to fit with the project and the dynamic of the team. It's not an easy task."
