How many Super Bowls have the Chiefs won?
How many Super Bowls have the Chiefs won now? Five? Ten? All of them?
The Chiefs' recent run of postseason dominance has perhaps made it easy to forget that things were not always this way in Kansas City. Before the Patrick Mahomes Era (no Taylor Swift-themed pun intended), the Chiefs had the second-longest Super Bowl drought among one-time winners, behind only the Jets.
In recent years however, the Chiefs' name has become nearly synonymous with "AFC champions." From 2018, when Mahomes took over as the team's starting quarterback, to today, Kansas City's worst ending to a season is a loss in the AFC championship game. In overtime. Twice.
This year, the Chiefs are entering their fifth Super Bowl in the last seven seasons. How many have they won in that span and in their history?

Have the Chiefs ever won a Super Bowl?
Kansas City has won four Lombardi Trophies since losing the first Super Bowl in 1967.
The Chiefs won their first title in Super Bowl 4 in 1970, the last iteration of the Big Game prior to the AFL-NFL merger which took effect later that year.
The team had to wait 50 years for their next title: a Super Bowl 54 win against the 49ers in 2020.
The gap to the next Super Bowl win was much shorter. Kansas City won it all again in Super Bowl 57 against the Eagles three years later.
When was the last time the Chiefs won the Super Bowl?
The Chiefs won again in Super Bowl 58 last year, becoming the eighth team in history to win back-to-back titles.
The Chiefs have a chance to become the first team in NFL history to win three Super Bowls in a row as they enter this year's Super Bowl rematch against the Eagles. Kansas City is already the first franchise in history to return to the Big Game after winning back-to-back Lombardi Trophies.

Chiefs Super Bowl appearances
The Chiefs have been to six Super Bowls and hold a 4-2 record all-time in championship games.
Kansas City's first appearance in a title game was in the first-ever Super Bowl, the 1967 AFL-NFL World Championship Game. The Packers won that one 35-10.
Three years later, the Chiefs returned to the Super Bowl and emerged victorious in Super Bowl 4 in 1970, beating the Vikings, 23-7, as 13.5-point underdogs.
Kansas City didn't make another Super Bowl for 50 years, then made two in a row. They won Super Bowl 54 against the 49ers in 2020, then lost in Super Bowl 55 to Tom Brady and the Buccaneers in 2021. After that, the Chiefs went to (and won) back-to-back Super Bowls in each of the last two seasons.
