Marc Guehi: Crystal Palace tempted to sell as Newcastle aim to wrap up quick £60m deal
Crystal Palace and Newcastle are in talks over a deal for Marc Guehi.
The defender is on Newcastle’s radar after excelling at Euro 2024 with England this summer.
Guehi has just two years left on his contract and there is a belief Palace could be tempted into selling.
Newcastle have now opened talks with the Eagles and hope a deal can be wrapped quickly ahead of the start of the new Premier League season next week.
Guehi has been on an extended break after helping England reach the final of Euro 2024, but he is due back in pre-season training on Wednesday.
Fellow England star Eberechi Eze is also due back in training and he has been linked with a move away as well.
Palace have already lost Michael Olise this summer after he joined Bayern Munich for around £50million and will be reluctant to sell more several key players.
They enjoyed an impressive end to last season under head coach Oliver Glasner and are determined to build on it.
Palace have bolstered their squad with the signings of defender Chadi Riad, midfielder Daichi Kamada and winger Ismaila Sarr.
Sarr missed the club’s pre-season tour to the US but is also due in training this week.
